Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman in the eyes of God, and certainly not something to be taken lightly. Marriage in the Bible Scriptures is mentioned numerous times, but this message is focused on the sanctity of the marriage between two opposite sex.

First of all, let’s just begin by saying that although the spirit of the Anti-Christ has been for decades trying to normalise the thought of same sex marriage in the minds of people, but as far as God is concerned, this is called fornication and it’s absolutely abhorrent in the sight of God.

Leviticus 20:13 World English Bible (WEB)

“If a man lies with a male, as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

The World might consider any sexual relationship as marriage, and in years to come, people might not even know the difference between marriage and sex as many have already been brainwashed and corrupted by the media and our corrupt society so much that they cannot distinguish between love and lust or sex, therefore it’s foreseeable that many will soon call even their detestable acts of laying with animals as marriage with animals, and will take to the streets claiming their rights.

However, these types of perverted behaviour are nothing new. If Scriptures are not clear about few things, they are certainly crystal clear about God’s laws surrounding lust, sexual immorality, adultery, fornication, and bestiality.

Lust and Adultery:

Exodus 20:14 World English Bible (WEB)

“You shall not commit adultery.”

Matthew 5:28 World English Bible (WEB)

“But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

Leviticus 20:15-16 World English Bible (WEB)

“If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; and you shall kill the animal. If a woman approaches any animal, and lies down with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.”

Deuteronomy 27:21 World English Bible (WEB)

“‘Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”

Galatians 5:19 World English Bible (WEB)

“Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,”

Ephesians 5:3 New International Version (NIV)

“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.”

1 Corinthians 10:8 World English Bible (WEB)

“Let us not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.”

Marriage Scriptures are always mentioned as an unchangeable covenant between a man and a woman, and it’s to be kept holy not only by the married couple, but even by all.

Hebrews 13:4 New International Version (NIV)

“Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.”

Sexual perversion, on the other hand is a detestable sin condemned by God, and it is in fact one of the main reasons why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and many other cities.

Jude 7 World English Bible (WEB)

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are shown as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.”

The First Marriage Account;

Marriage Scriptures start from Genesis when God saw that it wasn’t good for the man to be alone;

Genesis 2:18 World English Bible (WEB)

“Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to[a] him.”

Therefore, God first put the desire of having a companion in Adam’s heart by causing all the animals walk passed by Adam as he was naming them, and Adam saw that they were all in pairs, but he was alone, and so the desire was born.

Genesis 2:19-20 World English Bible (WEB)

“Out of the ground Yahweh God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature became its name. The man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the sky, and to every animal of the field; butfor man there was not found a helper comparable to him.”

Then God gave Adam the desire of his heart by making Eve out of Adam’s rib.

Genesis 2:21-24 World English Bible (WEB)

“Yahweh God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. As the man slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Yahweh God made a woman from the rib which had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said,‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.”

Now, as we just read, God made Eve out of Adam’s rib, perfectly suitable and compatible companion for him, and Adam can see that they are already one, he proclaims their unity as he says she is bone of his bones, and flesh of his flesh.

Although God doesn’t need to do a surgery to take men’s ribs out every time He wants to bring to a man his suitable helper, but the process is still almost identical; God still first puts the desire in man’s and woman’s heart, then gives them the desire of their hearts by bringing and joining them together.

Adam had no need for a woman or a helper until God put that desire in his heart, and that’s how it should be with every man or woman of God if we want the marriage promises of God to follow.

After God puts the desire in man’s heart to have a wife as his suitable helper, then with earnest prayers, God will also meet the man’s desire by bringing to him the perfect match that God has for him, now God’s suitable person for the man might not necessarily meet all the criteria the man might have listed for his perfect match, but never the less is his match since God sees the full picture, whereas man only sees what he can. Now the process for the woman is exactly the same, as God is preparing the man’s heart, He is also preparing the woman’s heart at the same time.

Now, if God joined the man and the woman, and it’s not the will of man, but God’s as per Adam’s process of events, which we visited above, then the two are joint in spirit, and this is not something brought about by a piece of paper called marriage certificate, this is a sacred unity, which has happened before the certificate is ever issued or they ever started living together as in the case of Adam and Eve, we saw that Adam announced their unity by saying “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh” (Genesis 2:23) before they ever started living together, which tells us joining of the two starts in the spirit first rather than the flesh as they had no physical contact yet, but Adam could see that God had brought to him a helper that was part of himself.

This is exactly why Apostle Paul writes to Ephesians:

Ephesians 5:28 World English Bible (WEB)

“Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.”

The parallel to this love is Christ’s love for his body, which is the Church.
