The world is corrupt, but that’s no surprise to a believer as Satan is the ruler of the earth, but what’s sad is the fact that today, so many who call themselves Christian, and even attend their own churches regularly for various reasons and motives, seem to have completely lost the point. They don’t seem to know what or who they should follow, they go to church, their lips sing and praise the lord, they even preach and teach others, but looking at their lifestyle and their deeds, they don’t match with the Scripture’s teaching. John tells us to test the spirits, and do not believe every spirit (1 John 4:1-6), and James tells us to look at their deeds (James 3: 13)
The Scripture is clear as crystal when it comes to the morality, modesty, and the standards that a believer, a child of God must observe.
We are not to follow the world patterns, and conform to its standards (Romans 12:2).
Be it fashion or anything else, we are supposed to be the head and not the tail, we are not supposed to be the copy cats, the world should look up to us and learn from us, not the other way around. They should look at us, and want what we have, not the opposite!
Jesus reminded us that we are salt of the earth! (Matthew 5:13). Salt is the substance that preserves other things, without salt, they will rot, but unfortunately, church and the leaders of the church today have lost the plot altogether, they are following the world, they adopt its principles, and standards without even thinking about it twice as it’s become part of their lives, they seem to want to have the cake and eat it.
As a true born again child of God, you would not want to have any affiliations with the world, you live in the world, but you are not of it. (1 John 2:15)
We are to live by faith and walk in the Spirit, and not by sight, so that we will not fulfil the desires of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16-26; 1 Corinthians 3:1).
