There is one condition for getting this “protecting” peace. Do you know what it is?
The peace of God is one of many blessings God promises to His servants who pray. Philippians says “by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Peace is most often thought of as inner peace or the relaxation that comes through meditating on God’s Word. Paul says this kind of peace mentioned in Philippians “transcends all understanding” and “guards” it is not something we can produce by our own efforts.
Most don’t associate peace with guarding, however this is exactly what Paul is referring to here. As you would guard a child that was entrusted to you, the same way this peace guards your heart and mind. It is a fiercely protective peace.
Guarding is no little task and this extra safety God has given us all as a gift only comes through prayer. It is a powerful weapon against the enemy and often overlooked.
If you’re not experiencing God’s “guarding” peace in your life, just ask believing, and He’ll give generously. God wants the best for all His servants and having your heart and mind guarded with this powerful peace is part of His plan for every believer.
When this peace is reigning in your life, you’ll think clearer, make better decisions and be able to see a better path forward in your life that you may have missed before. God’s peace is an absolute must for tough situations, but it’s at these crucial moments Satan does his best to steal it all away, leaving us disheartened, and confused. Don’t let that roaring lion (Satan) steal your peace!
